This Maine Adult Education Map and Compass Level 1 is designed for outdoor enthusiasts that feel unsure of how to use a map with a compass or just using topo maps or just using baseplate compasses. You might be a youth group leader, a hiker, paddler, snowmobiler, or someone that wants to expand their skills or refresh them.
You will go through this online course and work through exercises designed to build your skills. You will need a baseplate compass with 2 degree accuracy. A bubble compass, military, or a lensatic compass will not work.
We will be having two Zoom class meetings as part of this course. Ideally, you will have read the Map and Compass lesson before the first Zoom class meeting.
